Frequency Counter [Error in PCB]

An Error has been found in the frequency counter pcb design by VU3WJM . The errror has been found in the five digit mode LSD and MSD,which have been swaped,that is the display on the left the one driven by NPN transistor should have been the LSD.

New PCB for counter will be available soon with the rectification of error. Meanwhile friends who
have already got the freq counter PCB could correct the error by swapping the FND connections going to the cathode of the 5 FND.

Our friend Jean Scott F1BGY has sent pictures of his frequency counter with the jumpers
swapped in the correct position. "Thanks Jean for the beautiful pictures of your frequency

S-Meter For Ham Radio Tcvr

The Bitx design lacks an S-meter and adding one would be great in displaying a relative signal strength. Presented here is a one transistor ultra simple S-Meter designed by F6BQU Luc

Very Interesting our friend Vittorio Bruni IOVBR has added this small wonder S-Meter to his
Bitx Tcvr and sent us some more pictures of his Bitx with the S-Meter installed.
Well done Vittorio! The beauty of Bitx is that we can add on circuits and see the results and get the satisfaction from the outcome.

I would request all my friends who are making the Bitx to send me some pictures of their
Bitx,it does not matter if your Bitx is still under construction.The real charm is seeing so many Hams attempting to make the Bitx Tcvr globally.

Modifications Bitx Version 3 Qrp Tcvr By Om Daniel Cappa IW1AXR

Our Friend Vittorio has sent us modifications for the Bitx version 3 Qrp Tcvr.which his friends Om Daniel Cappa IW1AXR has made and contributions by IK1JNS, Pino Panniello, www.panniello.it . Q5 VfO transistor is now JFET BF245/2N3819 resulting in improved noise performance in this stage.
A single transistor stage has been added in the mic pre amp.Another transistor from one end of the volume control pot to ground mutes the AF amp in transmit. ZRF (RFC 100uh to 1mh) between audio stages and product detector/mod blocks any Rf from getting into audio stages.
