Silkscreen Error on Bitx Main Board

There are two errors in the latest Bitx Board that you have got lately.
The first is a 2k2 which should be 220 ohms, that is right side of Q11 with a .1 capacitor in between.
The second is .1UF between pin 1-8 which should be reversed, a 10uf capacitor would be better in place of 1uf.

Increasing Gain of LM 386

The Bitx may be giving a low audio output for some. To increase the output I searched for some articles on Sprat and came across an interesting article. With just a few mods in the existing board the audio Gain of LM386 could be increased by 2 to 3 times.

It would be interesting to try this out. I will be trying it out myself and will put up the results. would request my friends to try it out and email me the results.

New PCB and Kits

Some buy links for a few new Kits have been placed.
The following are the new PCB and kits

1. A two PCB set for DDS VFO, all info can be found n Ham Radio India. Org.
We plan to make this into a Kit, but presently only the PCB are offered.

2. A Linear Amp 50 Watts PCB. An article has been published in QST for this linear.
We presently offer this as a semi kit, which includes a PCB and 2 Final Transistors
IRF 510

3. A Dummy Load Cum Power Meter. This is a complete Kit. All info can be found on
Ham Radio India. Org

4.S.Meter with 4 Led. This is a complete Kit.

The case for Bitx is ready as informed earlier. I still have to make a small write up for it,and arrange suitable packing for it. But if any one is interested then kindly do email me for the case.
The front Panel is available in three types
1. All controls in one line with VU meter and LCD
2. The other design which is not in a straight line is available in VU meter LCD
and the second one with a Bar Graph S.meter and LCD.

Shorty I will put up pictures and details for a set of PCB that can be used for 2 bands, and a pcb for switching between LSB and USB and and as well as a PCB for switching the Filter for SSB and CW.

Models of different panels

I would like to thank my friends in taking part in polls and expressing their opinion on the necessary controls on the Front Panel.
It seems from the poll that the best option would be to cut the VU Meter and LCD display box so that the rest of controls can be set as per requirements.

I am publishing some more pictures of the present front panel and a new front panel
with all the controls in a single line and no markings on any control, so that could be
done as per choice.

To provide variety is a fair challenge, so that is why companies that offer a case
provide it as a blank front panel.

I could also provide complete blank panel for some interested persons.

Bitx Version 3 Case

The Bitx case is ready. The size is 4 inch height,8inch front and 9.5 inch length
The height was kept a bit above average height, so that an extra linear qro type could be mounted vertically on the partition plate. I will also get a case with 2.5 inch height, but that would not support an extra linear or additional boards.

The case is made of G.I. Sheet and the Front Panel and back panel are made of ACP, as it was easy to get it cut on a Router.

The front and back panels be used as per choice.
The case has provision of a Fan to keep the linear cool.An internal speaker facility
and a partition for shielding is provided.

In place of partition plate a Alimunium sheet could be used as a partition and the 30 watts linear mounted on it.
Please this is my first attempt in getting a case made and many of you may or may not
like my design. But it is an attempt from my side to provide a case for Bitx which I promised several times, the major factor being that the price being very economical for all to buy.

A new panel with all controls in single line is also ready now.
And some who do not like the extra height, I could order new side panels that may be 2.4 to 3 inches in height.

There is also a second model which is one inch bigger in size, but height is same.
That will be presented soon.
The present color is Grey only.
The case is complete in 6 sections that can be taken off and build.

I will take orders soon as the packing material is ready for the case.
The case will include all connectors, screws,LCD,and vu meter and knobs.
The price should suite all pockets, hi hi

Hi Friends.
The cabinet is finally completed. But some how the design of front panel may not appeal to all , as I also felt this. But everyone has a different choice so may be some of you like the design.
I have got a new design with all the controls in one straight line, may be this is better for some of friends.
The Cabinet pictures will be put up shortly.
